Weed Planter
About the Creator
Hi! My name is Arie, I’m 19 years old, and this is the very first game I’ve ever made. I built it completely on my own—every line of code, every idea, every detail. It’s been a fun and challenging project, and I’m really proud to finally share it with you.
I didn’t make this game to be perfect—I just wanted people to try it out and tell me what they think. Your feedback means a lot and will help me grow as a game developer. Thanks for playing!
About the Game
This is a chill weed-growing simulation game with some strategy and idle elements. Be smart with your money, invest in the right plants, and upgrade carefully to grow your weed empire. But don’t get too comfortable—at level 3, the cops start showing up, so keep an eye out and plan ahead. Good luck!
How to Play:
-
Enter Your Name: When you start, you’ll need to enter your name. Please note, you can only use the same name once per game. After each game, you’ll need to change it.
-
Shop: On the right corner of the screen, you’ll find the shop. Here, you can unlock and buy upgrades for your plants. Be careful with your money—spend too much, and you could end up broke, unable to progress!
-
Protection: In the shop, make sure to buy protection for your plants. Without it, the cops might raid your lab, and you’ll lose your plants. The more protection you have, the safer you’ll be.
-
Lives: Keep an eye on your lives. Once you lose three lives, it’s game over—you’ll be busted! Unfortunately, you cannot restore lost lives, so protect them at all costs!
Good luck, and make sure to manage your resources wisely!

Such a well made game, I love it! I also can't help but feel how realistic it is, been doin' stuff like that for a while, type shi.
pretty cool game! Well done
Hello, thanks for playing my game and giving your feedback
Wowwww
Hello! I didn't have much time to play through your game, so im sorry if i missed some aspects, but although i'm no programmer i'd love to give you some constructive criticism!
First off, I like the background and the way the tables look :) whether you made it yourself or chose an asset, it looks good! For the game itself, however, there are a few things you could improve on.
1. Music.
It may not seem like a big deal, but having some background music and some sound effects are crucial to having a sort of atmosphere(?sorry, im not good with words.) to your game. You could make some sounds for when the player is upgrading their plants, collecting money from the plants, for when the police come, etc.
2. Police mechanic.
The mechanic of the police coming every once in a while is great! However, it felt kind of predictable to me after a while. I'd recommend making it sort of random when the police come to help keep the player on their toes. Having a sound effect or a music change when the police pop up would help with this. Also, it's best not to just tell the player what level the police come, as it adds to the predictability.
3. Description.
Most players don't really mind/care if a creator adds in stuff about themselves in the description of the game they're playing, but it's best to not make it the first thing. Adding a description about yourself is completely fine by the way! I didn't mind reading it, and it's not that serious since it's just a nice personal project. But maybe don't make it the first thing players read when working on other projects.
When you described the game, you gave away way too much about it, which poses a great issue! Circling back to the police mechanic, you gave away what level the police arrive at, which paints the mechanic as less of a fun thing and more of a tedious thing to look out for. Omninously hint to the player that police may arrive instead of just telling them; they'll figure it out, I promise.
4. Main game.
As I said earlier, i had no time to play through the whole thing and unlock all the plants (Currently writing this at 12AM on a school night) but it wasn't too bad. I just felt a bit empty while playing it due to there not being much going on in the background. Adding music and sound effects would definitely help with this issue, so don't be afraid to pull some free to use sound effects for your game!
5.Leveling
For me, leveling was a bit too easy and a bit boring too. I'd suggest making it harder to level up, and add a bit of a reward system for doing so as well! Maybe the player could add decorations to their weed area or something?
Ideas/End thoughts:
Overall, this is great for your first game!! I know I had a lot of critiques, but they're all easy fixes. Some ideas I had while playing is that maybe you had a partner, and after leveling up, theres a little chatbox where the two characters speak to each other. Of course, this is the inner visual novel lover in my talking, so feel free to ignore this lmao. I apologize if this seemed unhelpful or a bit harsh, but I can tell that you'll go far if this is your first project. The concept is great and funny, and the game is pretty alright for a simulator :> Great job Arie!
Thank you so much for playing and taking the time to write such detailed feedback! I really appreciate all the constructive criticism—it’s super helpful. I'm glad you liked the background and the tables! 😊
I totally agree with you about the music and sound effects. I actually have added some background music and sound effects for various actions like upgrading plants, collecting money, and the police arriving. I’m always looking for ways to improve the atmosphere of the game, so I’ll definitely keep working on that.
As for the police mechanic, I hear you on the predictability issue! I’m planning to make the police events more random to keep players on their toes, and I’ll also add some sound cues to heighten the tension when they show up.
I’ve also taken your point about the description to heart. I’ll definitely adjust it to focus more on the gameplay itself rather than giving away too much information up front. Thanks for pointing that out!
Regarding leveling and the general game feel, I’m in the process of adding more plants and events to make the experience more engaging and fun. I’ll also look into making the leveling system a bit more challenging, with some rewarding additions like decorations for the weed area!
Lastly, the idea of adding a partner and having character interactions is super cool! I’ll keep that in mind as I continue to develop the game.
Thanks again for your time and thoughtful feedback—it really helps me make the game better. I hope you’ll keep an eye out for future updates!
Thanks for taking my feedback and ideas! I'll definitely keep an eye out for future updates :]
